The Los Angeles Lakers look the same at point guard for this season
35-year old Derek Fisher and 22-year old Jordan Farmar will man the point guard position for the Lakers this season. The veteran Fisher appears to have the edge in being the starter this season but Farmar expects to beat him out for the job. Time will tell who will start for the Lakers this season at the point. Derek Fisher played in 82 games for the Lakers last season and he averaged 29.8 minutes, 9.9 points, 2.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game. Fisher does make big shots in big games so the Lakers will want him on the floor late in games. Farmar played in 65 games for the Lakers last season and he averaged 18.3 minutes, 6.4 points, 1.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game. Farmar has a much larger upside than Fisher does but the Lakers will likely stick with the veteran for now.
