The rookies on the Los Angeles Lakers watch and learn

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Rookie Report by admin on Tuesday 18 January 2011 at 10:34 pm

The Lakers don’t have much P.T. available for their rookies except in blowout games like the one over the Cavs recently, for example.  22-year old power forward/center Derrick Caracter has played in 29 games (0 starts) for the Lakers so far this year and he is averaging 5.9 minutes, 2.4 points, 1.1 rebounds and 0.2 assists per game.  Caracter isn’t intimidated by the NBA so far as he is shooting 51.9% from the floor so far this year.  21-year old small forward Devin Ebanks has only played in 13 games (0 starts) for the Lakers so far this year and he is averaging 6.5 minutes, 3.2 points, 1.5 rebounds and 0.1 assists per game.  Caracter & Ebanks are going to have to be patient and take advantage of the limited playing time that they are going to get this year.  They will continue to improve as players though because they are practicing against some pretty good players.
