The Lakers only shot 35.4% from the floor in this game as they laid another rotten egg.  Kobe Bryant only shot 8 of 27 from the floor in this game but he still led the way for the Lakers with 21 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal.  Ron Artest (10 points, 1 rebound and 2 steals) and Andrew Bynum (10 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 blocked shot in 22 minutes) were the only other Lakers other than Kobe to reach double figures in this game.  The Lakers are now 21-10 on the year.

Ron Artest needs to pick up the pace for the Los Angeles Lakers

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Need to Step up,Steppin Up by admin on Tuesday 28 December 2010 at 8:18 pm

31-year old starting small forward Ron Artest needs to pick up the pace before 30-year old Matt Barnes takes his job.  Artest has played in 30 games (all starts) for the Lakers so far this year and he is averaging 26.9 minutes, 7.6 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.6 steals per game.  But, he is only shooting 39% from the floor and that is pretty awful.  Matt Barnes has played in 30 games (0 starts) so far this year and he is averaging 21.5 minutes, 8.2 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game.  He is shooting 47.1% from the floor this year so he’s adding punch to the offense when he’s on the court.  Artest better start playing better soon or he’s going to be playing in less than half of the game.

Garbage time is all that’s available to the rookies of the Los Angeles Lakers

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Rookie Report by admin on Thursday 23 December 2010 at 1:04 am

The Los Angeles Lakers have their eyes on winning another championship so the rookies will only likely get P.T. in garbage time this year.  22-year old PF/C Derrick Caracter has played in 22 games (0 starts) for the Lakers so far this year and he is averaging 6.7 minutes, 2.4 points, 1.3 rebounds and 0.3 assists per game.  21-year old forward Devin Ebanks has played in 12 games (0 starts) so far this year and he is averaging 6.4 minutes, 2.9 points, 1.5 rebounds and 0.1 assists per game.  The Lakers like Caracter & Ebanks so their roles will probably grow down the road, but for now they are basically practice players.
