Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Steppin Up by admin on Tuesday 30 November 2010 at 3:16 am

36-year old point guard Derek Fisher isn’t showing any signs of slowing down yet for the Lakers.  Fisher has played in 17 games (all starts) for the Lakers so far this year and he is averaging 27.1 minutes, 7.9 points, 1.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.5 steals per game.  Fisher is 17 of 36 (47.2%) from three point range so far this year so he still has his stroke from long range.  Derek Fisher is giving the Lakers just what they expected out of him which makes them happy.

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Steppin Up by alleyoop on Thursday 18 November 2010 at 4:48 pm

30-year old C/PF Pau Gasol is really playing outstanding basketball right now. He has played in 12 games (all starts) for the Lakers so far this season and he is averaging 38.7 minutes, 22.9 points, 12.2 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.5 blocked shots per game. Gasol is shooting 55% from the floor and 79.1% from the free throw line so far this year as he has been very accurate. The Lakers need Gasol to keep up the good work as he’s more than making up for the loss of Andrew Bynum.

The Los Angeles Lakers don’t have much time for rookies this year

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Rookie Report by alleyoop on Thursday 18 November 2010 at 4:46 pm

22-year old power forward Derrick Caracter and 21-year old Devin Ebanks will have to watch and learn this season. Caracter has played in 9 games (0 starts) for the Lakers so far this year and he is averaging 6.8 minutes, 2.9 points, 1.8 rebounds and 0.2 assists per game. Ebanks has played in 6 games (0 starts) for the Lakers so far this year and he is averaging 7.2 minutes, 2.5 points, 1.3 rebounds and 0.2 assists per game. The Lakers are a veteran laden team so I only see the rookies getting P.T. during mop up time.

The Los Angeles Lakers lose Theo Ratliff for a while

Blogged under Big Lakers News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injuries by alleyoop on Tuesday 16 November 2010 at 2:11 pm

The Lakers will be without 37-year old center Theo Ratliff for the next 4-6 weeks due to knee surgery. This hurts the Lakers’ depth at center as they are already without Andrew Bynum.
