The Kobe-less Lakers fall to the Knicks 99-94 in New York

Blogged under Front Page,Game Recaps by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 30 January 2007 at 9:49 pm

The Lakers were outrebounded 48-33 by the Knicks tonight and that’s a big reason for this loss. The bigger reason for the loss was the suspension of Kobe Bryant for an elbow he delivered to Manu Ginobili the other day. Lamar Odom led the way for the Lakers with 25 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Vladimir Radmanovic got the start tonight and he scored 18 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. Smush Parker also had a decent game with 14 points and 3 assists.

The Lakers fall in OT 96-94 to the Spurs in Los Angeles

Blogged under Front Page,Game Recaps by Nothing but Net on Monday 29 January 2007 at 11:20 am

The Lakers played great defense as they held the Spurs to 33.7% shooting from the floor, but they couldn’t get enough points themselves to make that stand up. Kobe Bryant led the way for the Lakers with 31 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Lamar Odom also had a solid game with 18 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Andrew Bynum had another good game around the basket with 14 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists.

Vladimir Radmanovic has been off lately

Blogged under Front Page,Need to Step up by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 23 January 2007 at 10:02 pm

Radmanovic hasn’t played well at all in his last 8 games. In those games he’s averaging 5.1 points, 2.4 rebounds and 0.9 assists. He’s only shot 29.5% from the floor in those games and will continue to lose playing time until he gets things turned around.

Maurice Evans & Andrew Bynum are steppin’ up

Blogged under Front Page,Steppin Up by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 23 January 2007 at 9:52 pm

Maurice Evans has been great off the bench lately. In his last 8 games he’s averaged 13.3 points, 3.8 rebounds and 0.9 assists. The Lakers need Evans to keep up his level of play even after Lamar Odom gets back. If he does, the Lakers will continue to roll.

Andrew Bynum has started his last 8 games and he’s played well. In those games he averages 9.4 points, 8.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 2.1 blocked shots. With Kwame Brown coming back the Lakers should get big time production between Brown & Bynum.

Andrew Bynum had a monster game with 10 points, 15 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocked shots.

Lakers about to get two big guns back from injury

Blogged under Big Lakers News,Front Page,Injuries by Nothing but Net on Monday 22 January 2007 at 11:31 am

The Lakers have played so well as a team that you would never realize that they’ve been playing without two starters, but they have. Lamar Odom is the #2 player on this team without Kobe, so the Lakers should take off starting Friday when he returns. Odom is averaging 17.5 points, 8.7 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game this season but somehow the bench players have made up for it. Kwame Brown will also return to the starting lineup. He was a little easier for the Lakers to replace as young Andrew Bynum played well in his absence. But, Brown will be welcomed back as he was averaging 8.7 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game. Brown & Bynum combined gives the Lakers one good center.

Lakers get pasted 114-95 by the Mavericks in Dallas

Blogged under Front Page,Game Recaps by Nothing but Net on Friday 19 January 2007 at 5:47 pm

The Lakers looked tired last night after beating the Spurs in San Antonio on Wednesday Night. The Lakers played no defense as they allowed the Mavericks to hit 54.5% of their shots from the floor and the Mavericks outrebounded the Lakers 53-28 and that’s why they got thumped. Kobe Bryant came to play as he scored 26 points, grabbed 3 rebounds and dished out 5 assists. Jordan Farmar had a great game off the bench with 17 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals.

This was the Kobe Bryant show as he wouldn’t let his team lose last night. Bryant scored 34 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and dished out 8 assists. Vladimir Radmanovic (13 points) and Maurice Evans (11 points, 5 rebounds) each played well off the bench to support Kobe.
