Clayton Kershaw of the Los Angeles Dodgers finished 2nd in the Cy Young Award vote in the N.L.
24-year old lefty starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw finished in 2nd place in the N.L. Cy Young Award voting in 2012. He also finished tied for 16th in the MVP vote with Ian Desmond. Kershaw pitched in 33 games (all starts) for the Dodgers last year and he was 14-9 with a 2.53 ERA and a 1.02 WHIP. He only gave up 170 hits and walked 63 batters while whiffing 229 of them in 227 2/3 impressive innings. Kershaw has now pitched in 151 games (149 starts) in his first five years with the Dodgers and he is 61-37 with a 2.79 ERA and a 1.14 WHIP. Kershaw came darn close to winning his second Cy Young Award in a row in 2012. I look for him to add to his trophy case in the near future because to me…..he’s the best starting pitcher in all of baseball right now.
