The Dodgers have declined 34-year old righty swinging outfielder Juan Rivera’s option for 2013, valued at $4 million bucks. They have bought him out for $500,000 bucks. Rivera played in 109 games for the Dodgers last year and he was 76 of 312 (.244 avg, .661 OPS) with 30 runs scored, 9 homers, 47 RBIs and 1 stolen base. Rivera played in 171 games in his two years with the Dodgers and he was 136 of 531 (.256 avg, .694 OPS) with 54 runs scored, 14 homers, 93 RBIs and 3 stolen bases. Rivera shouldn’t have much of a problem finding a new job this winter, but the Dodgers won’t miss him too much.
