The Los Angeles Angels have claimed 25-year old righty starter/reliever Daniel Wright off waivers from the Cincinnati Reds.  Wright pitched in 4 games (2 starts) for the Reds this year in his first taste of the show and he was 0-2 with a 7.42 ERA and a 2.08 WHIP.  Wright has given up 25 hits and 2 walks while whiffing 6 batters in his first 13 innings in the show, so he got hit pretty hard.  He also pitched in 25 games (14 starts) in AA+AAA-ball for the Reds this year and he was 8-5 with a 5.04 ERA and a 1.43 WHIP.  With the Angels hurting for pitching, it doesn’t hurt to take a flier on a guy like Wright.
