The Angels have signed 31-year old righty swinging outfielder Luis Montanez to a minor league deal.  He played in 52 games in Independent ball earlier this year and he was 63 of 201 (.313 avg, .837 OPS) with 39 runs scored, 6 homers, 41 RBIs and 1 stolen base.  He last played in the majors back in 2011 with the Cubs.  Montanez has played in 129 games in his first four years in the majors and he is 68 for 305 (.223 avg, .586 OPS) with 31 runs scored, 5 homers, 32 RBIs and 1 stolen base.  Montanez could get another shot at the majors later this year with the Angels if he hits well for them in the minors.
