24-year old righty reliever Kevin Johnson is serving as the closer in AA-ball for the Angels so far this year.  He has pitched in 20 games (0 starts) in AA-ball so far this year and he is 2-2 with 8 saves, a 2.92 ERA and a 1.38 WHIP.  He has given up 28 hits and 6 walks while whiffing 13 batters in his first 24 2/3 innings in the minors this year, so he has been far from dominating.  Johnson has now pitched in 141 games (10 starts) in his first four years in the minors and he is 9-16 with 35 saves, a 4.18 ERA and a 1.47 WHIP.  Johnson came into this season as the Angels’ #29 prospect according to Baseball America.  Johnson could get his first shot at the majors later on in 2013, if he keeps pitching well in the minors.
