Geltz came into this season as the Angels’ #26 overall prospect according to Baseball America. Geltz also pitched in 46 games (0 starts) in AA+AAA-ball for the Angels last year and he was 3-1 with 11 saves, a 3.05 ERA and a 1.05 WHIP. The Angels must feel that De La Rosa is ready to help them right now, while Geltz might not be quite ready for the show.
