The over/under for Los Angeles Angels’ wins in 2013 is 89.5

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page, General by joelapinski on Sunday 24 March 2013 at 4:56 pm

The over/under for Los Angeles Angels’ wins in 2013 is 89.5  The Angels were 89-73 (54.9%) in 2012.  The Angels have a new look for 2013 and it’s a good one.  With Peter Bourjos (CF), Josh Hamilton (RF) and Mike Trout (LF), the Angels are going to have an outstanding defensive and offensive outfield.  The Angels are going to score a lot of runs in 2013 and they have a rock solid starting rotation ready to roll.  The Angels are going to win the A.L. West in 2013 and they are going to like beating up on the poor Houston Astros.  I would definitely bet on the over as far as Angels’ wins go in 2013.

Mike Scioscia is going to get his Los Angeles Angels back to the playoffs in 2013

54-year old manager Mike Scioscia is going to get the Angels back to the playoffs in 2013, mark my words.  The Angels missed the playoffs last year as they finished up 89-73 (54.9%).  Mike Scioscia is 1,155-951 (54.8%) in the regular season in his first 13 years on the job as the manager of the Angels.  He is also 21-24 (46.7%) in the playoffs so far in his career.  The Angels are loaded this year and I think Scioscia will get the most out of his roster in 2013.

The Los Angeles Angels lose Brad Mills off waivers

Blogged under Arrivals & Departures, Bloglockers, Front Page, General by joelapinski on Sunday 24 March 2013 at 3:51 pm

The Angels have lost 28-year old lefty starting pitcher Brad Mills off waivers to the division rival Texas Rangers.  Mills pitched in 3 games (1 start) this spring for the Angels and he was 1-0 with a 6.00 ERA and a 1.33 WHIP.  He pitched in 1 game (1 start) for the Angels last year and he was 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA and a 0.60 WHIP.  He also pitched in 21 games (19 starts) in AAA-ball for the Angels last year and he was 5-10 with a 5.86 ERA and a 1.59 WHIP.  This isn’t much of a loss for the Angels.
