Righty starting pitcher Mike Witt was a pretty solid pitcher for the Angels. He pitched 10 years for the Angels, working in 314 games (272 starts) in which he was 109-107 with 6 saves, a 3.76 ERA and a 1.32 WHIP. His best season for the Angels came back in 1986, when he finished 3rd in the voting for the Cy Young Award. Witt pitched in 34 games (all starts) in 1986 and he was 18-10 with a 2.84 ERA and a 1.08 WHIP. He was a workhorse in 1986 as he threw 14 complete games (3 shutouts). He threw 269 innings in 1986, allowing only 218 hits and 73 walks while whiffing 208 batters. Witt made it to two All-Star Teams in his 10 years with the Angels. Witt is #3 in games started (272), wins (109), innings pitched (1,965 1/3), strikeouts (1,283) and complete games (70) in Angels’ history. He is also #5 in games pitched (314) and #10 in shutouts (10) in Angels’ history.
