The Los Angeles Angels should be calling the Tampa Bay Rays

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,If I Were GM by chinmusic on Tuesday 22 May 2012 at 10:21 am

With 3B Evan Longoria and Jeff Keppinger on the D.L., the Angels should be calling up the Rays about a deal. Alberto Callaspo would be a really good fit for the Rays, and righty reliever Brandon Gomes would be a good fit with the Angels…who still need more help in the bullpen. This would be a good deal for the Angels, because it would open up 3B for Mark Trumbo. If Trumbo can’t handle the job, the Angels would still have Maicer Izturis, who is just as good of a player as Callaspo is. Call the Rays already.

The Los Angeles Angels place Ryan Langerhans on the D.L.

He has pitched in 46 games (0 starts) in his first two years with the Angels and he is 2-3 with a 2.87 ERA and a 1.31 WHIP. The Angels shouldn’t miss Langerhans too much, as Cassevah should be able to help the pen a little bit.
