The Los Angeles Angels sign Jason Isringhausen
The Angels have signed 39-year old righty reliever Jason Isringhausen to a minor league deal. Isringhausen pitched in 53 games (0 starts) for the Mets last year and he was 3-3 with 7 saves, a 4.05 ERA and a 1.29 WHIP. He has now pitched in 674 games (52 starts) in his first 15 years in the majors and he is 48-53 with 300 saves, a 3.62 ERA and a 1.33 WHIP. Isringhausen is tied with Hall of Fame reliever Bruce Sutter for 22nd in major league history in saves with 300 of them. This was a good pickup for the Angels as Isringhausen might have enough left in the gas tank to help them in 2012.
I thought Jason might retire. I’m glad he’s staying on. Great career with 15+ seasons.
A good tribute…http://youtu.be/zwOIr9C2BNE
I think Isringhausen might still have a little bit left in the gas tank Clark.
