Matt Long is having a great year in the minors for the Los Angeles Angels
24-year old lefty swinging outfielder Matt Long has been playing great baseball for the Angels this year in A-ball. Long has played in 115 games in A-ball this year and he is 138 for 455 (.303 avg, .898 OPS) with 100 runs scored, 16 homers, 72 RBIs and 26 stolen bases. He has now played in 295 games in his first three years in the minors and he is 336 for 1,121 (.300 avg, .853 OPS) with 225 runs scored, 22 homers, 177 RBIs and 52 stolen bases. With the Angels’ current outfield being a little long in tooth, the Angels might be moving Long up soon to AA.
agreed - an overlooked prospect who I have enjoyed watching in Inland Empire. Hope he gets some recognition soon - GREAT arm.
If he keeps playing like he is right now Gene, he will get the recognition that he deserves.
