The Los Angeles Angels will probably be buyers at the trade deadline

Angels’ owner Arte Moreno has deep pockets so don’t be surprised to see the Angels trying to make big moves at the trade deadline to improve the roster. I think the Angels are going to try to take advantage of the Mets’ money situation and try to make a play for 3B David Wright if he proves he’s healthy in July when he comes off the D.L. I also think the Angels could use some righty relief help and I think they will be placing calls to the Nationals (about Todd Coffey), the Cubs (about Kerry Wood), the Orioles (about Koji Uehara) and the Blue Jays (about Frank Francisco, Jon Rauch, Jason Frasor and Octavio Dotel). The Angels have spent too much money on payroll to give up on the year and be sellers at the trade deadline.

I would love to see the Angels get David Wright.
However, I’ve just read, that Arte Moreno told Tony Reagins not to spend more this season. Another article said, they’d want Bourjos. Personally, \I\ would not trade Bourjos, or Trumbo or Walden.

They just can’t buy all their players, even though I really like Wright and to me 3B is still a problem.
Wells must be a really good guy but I have a \feeling\, that he trained but as a 25 year old and will come around some now.

If the Angels aren’t going to spend any more money, then they are going to have a hard time making the playoffs. They just don’t have any hitters on the team that instill fear in opposing pitchers. I would trade Peter Bourjos in a New York Minute if it meant adding David Wright to the Angels. Bourjos is an outstanding defensive player but I don’t think he’s going to be much of a hitter.
