The Los Angeles Angels have to be ecstatic with the play of Mark Trumbo

The Angels have to be happy with the play of 25-year old righty swinging 1B Mark Trumbo so far this year. Trumbo has played in 59 games for the Angels so far this year and he is 53 for 210 (.252 avg, .767 OPS) with 23 runs scored, 11 homers, 29 RBIs and 6 stolen bases. Trumbo is a hacker at the plate though as he has only walked 13 times while whiffing 51 times so far this year. That is nitpicking though as the Angels are glad that Trumbo stepped up with Kendry Morales now out for the season.

I couldn’t agree more regarding Trumbo and Bourjos too, Tori Hunter has done a great job for the Angels but this season he and Wells aren’t hitting their weight(late nights?). If Morales was playing and Wells and Hunter were hitting at all, these young players would be having fun with less pressure, they would fare much better. So, look to Wells and Hunter!!!!!
Also, Rodney can throw but somehow he has lost more games than won. It seems.
    He is not adequate.

I agree with you on everything you have wrote Barbara. Trumbo has been a godsend for the Angels with his hitting. Bourjos is amazing with the glove. You are right about Wells and Hunter. If those guys get hot, so will the Angels. Fernando Rodney has always drove me nuts because he has great stuff, but he just doesn’t know how to pitch.
