Angels’ starting LF Vernon Wells is off to a horrific start to the 2011 season for the Angels. Wells has played in 11 games for the Angels so far this year and he is 5 for 49 (.102 avg, .276 OPS) with 4 runs scored, 0 homers and 2 RBIs. He is swinging at everything as he has only walked 2 times while whiffing 13 times. The Angels don’t really have a backup plan as far as Wells is concerned because he’s making a ton of cash! The Angels better hope that Wells starts hitting soon or he’s going to hamstring the batting order.
