The left side of the infield is hitting well for the Los Angeles Angels
Alberto Callaspo and Maicer Izturis were supposed to share 3B in 2011 for the Angels. Due to starting shortstop Erick Aybar being a tad gimpy, Izturis has been starting at SS and Callaspo at 3B and they have both been ripping the baseball. Callaspo has played in 6 games so far for the Angels this year and he is 9 for 23 (.391 avg, 1.179 OPS) with 3 runs scored, 2 homers and 5 RBIs. Callaspo is in the “zone” as he has only whiffed 1 time so far this year. Izturis has played in 6 games for the Angels so far this year and he is 10 for 29 (.345 avg, .904 OPS) with 3 runs scored, 1 homer, 3 RBIs and 2 stolen bases. It will be interesting to see how manager Mike Scioscia splits up the P.T. at SS and 3B when Aybar is ready to return to action.
