The Angels have signed 30-year old righty reliever Ryan Braun to a minor league deal. Braun pitched in 52 games (0 starts) in AAA-ball for the White Sox last season and he was 1-3 with 18 saves, a 2.20 ERA and a 1.38 WHIP. Braun only gave up 45 hits in 57 1/3 innings in the minors last season and he whiffed 61 batters showing that he has good stuff. Braun last pitched in the majors way back in 2007 with the Kansas City Royals. Braun has pitched in 35 games (0 starts) in his two years in the majors and he is 2-1 with a 6.66 ERA and a 1.68 WHIP. Braun will get a chance to earn a spot in the Angels’ bullpen next spring.
