Right handed pitcher Matt Palmer has been a lifesaver for the Angels’ pitching staff filling in wherever they have needed him whether in the rotation or the bullpen. Palmer has pitched in 22 games (12 starts) for the Angels this season and he is 9-1 with a 4.52 ERA and a 1.38 WHIP. 25-year old switch hitting SS Erick Aybar is having the best season of his major league career by far. He has played in 77 games for the Angels this season and he is 88 for 277 (.318 avg, .788 OPS) with 38 runs scored, 3 homers, 37 RBIs and 8 stolen bases. Aybar shared SS last season with Maicer Izturis but that has not really been the case this season and it won’t be as long as he keeps ripping the baseball.

The Angels have released veteran righty reliever Rudy Seanez. Seanez pitched in 9 games (0 starts) in AAA-ball this season and he was 0-0 with a 4.00 ERA and a 1.33 WHIP. With the need the Angels had in the bullpen this could be the end of the road in Seanez’ major league career.
