The Angels won a very tense game last night in 12 innings to keep their season alive. Erick Aybar was only 1 for 6 but he knocked in Mike Napoli with the game winning run in the 12th inning. Chone Figgins was a pest for the Red Sox last night as he was 3 for 7 with 1 run scored and a stolen base. Mark Teixeira, Vladimir Guerrero, Torii Hunter and Howie Kendrick pitched in with 2 hits apiece in this game. Joe Saunders had a rough start for the Angels working the first 4.2 innings in which he allowed 5 hits, 4 earned runs, walked 4 batters and he whiffed 2. Joe Arrendondo, Darren Oliver, Scot Shields and Francisco Rodriguez combined to pitch 5.1 innings of relief allowing only 1 hit, 0 runs and whiffing 8 batters. Jeff Weaver was the winning pitcher working scoreless 11th and 12th innings whiffing three batters. The Angels are still down 2-1 in this series with another game at Fenway Park tonight.
