The game last night has to have the Angels reeling as they fought hard to tie the game in the bottom of the 8th inning before Boston’s J.D. Drew hammered a homer off of K-Rod in the 9th inning to win the game. Mark Teixeira was 3 for 3 with 3 runs scored and he knocked in the game tying run in the 8th inning. Vladimir Guerrero also had a solid game going 3 for 4. Chone Figgins and Torii Hunter each went 2 for 5 in this game. Ervin Santana had one of his worst starts of the season for the Angels working the first five innings and allowing 8 hits, 5 earned runs and whiffing 3 batters while walking none. Jose Arrendondo and Scot Shields followed Santana with 2.1 scoreless innings before K-Rod came in and blew the game. Francisco Rodriguez worked the last 1.1 innings of this game allowing 4 hits and 2 earned runs as he was the losing pitcher in this game for the Angels. The Angels are now down 2-0 in this series as it shifts to Fenway Park.
