The Angels didn’t have a chance in this series against the powerful Boston Red Sox who outscored them 19-4 in this series. Jered Weaver pitched a good game yesterday as he only made two mistakes which were both hit out of the ballpark (Ortiz and Ramirez) in the 4th inning. He worked 5 innings and he allowed 4 hits, 2 earned runs, walked 3 batters and whiffed 5, but he was the losing pitcher. The Angels gave up 7 runs in the 8th inning which sealed their fate. Justin Speier was the main culprit as he worked only 1/3 of an inning but he allowed 3 hits, walked 1 batter and allowed 4 earned runs. Darren Oliver followed Speier in the game and he was also pretty stinky as he worked 2/3 of an inning and he allowed 2 hits and 2 earned runs.

Only Orlando Cabera (2 for 4) and Maicer Izturis (3 for 4, 1 run scored, 2 doubles) did legit damage on offense for the Angels yesterday. The Angels were swept 3-0 in this series by the Red Sox.
