The Los Angeles Angels designate Shea Hillenbrand for assignment
The Angels decided that they would rather have other players get the at bats that Shea Hillenbrand was gettting this season. Hillenbrand has played in 53 games this season for the Angels and he was 50 for 197 (.254 avg, .600 OPS) with 19 runs scored, 3 homers and 22 RBIs. They should have no problem trading him as the Yankees seem to really want him. The Angels have activated Garrett Anderson off of the disabled list to replace Hillenbrand on the roster and likely in the lineup as well. Anderson has played in 35 games this season and he’s 35 for 132 (.265 avg, .684 OPS) with 21 runs scored, 3 homers and 15 RBIs.
