The Angels have a few hitters that are off to outstanding starts to the season. Vladimir Guerrero has been incredible so far this season as he’s hitting .440 with 5 runs scored, 3 homers and 10 RBIs. It seems like he’s hitting anything the opposing pitcher throws to the plate right now. Casey Kotchman is off to a solid start as he’s hitting .375 and finally looking healthy. Maicer Izturis is off to a .364 batting average with 2 stolen bases as he’s been starting at 3B with Chone Figgins out. Gary Matthews has shown no signs yet that the pressure of the HGH investigation is bothering him as he’s hitting .304 with 7 runs scored so far this season.

The pitching has been outstanding for the Angels so far this season. John Lackey has been really nasty so far this season as he is 2-0 with a 0.75 ERA. Lackey also has whiffed 11 batters in 12 innings. Ervin Santana (1-0, 2.57 ERA) and Dustin Moseley (1-0, 1.50 ERA) both pitched well in their lone starts of the season. Scott Shields has been incredible so far this season as he has a save and has not allowed an earned run in 5.1 innings this season. Hector Carrasco (3.1 IP), Darren Oliver (1.1 IP) and Chris Bootcheck (1 IP) have yet to allow an earned run so far this season.
