34 year old lefty swinging Garret Anderson will again be the starting left fielder for the Angels in 2007. He played in 141 games last season and he hit .280 with 17 homers, 85 RBIs and a .756 OPS. Anderson played 94 games in left field and he didn’t make any errors. He also showed above average range in left field. Look for Anderson to still have something left in the tank and produce similar numbers to what he put up last season.

38 year old lefty swinging Curtis Pride will try to make the Angels as a back up outfielder. He worked hard last season in AAA ball as he played 87 games down there and hit .311 with 8 homers, 44 RBIs and a .889 OPS. He also played in 22 games for the Angels and he hit .222 with a .771 OPS. Pride played in 8 games for the Angels in left field and he didn’t make an error. This might be Pride’s best chance to make the Angels out of Spring Training.

28 year old switch hitter Tommy Murphy will also have a good chance to make the Angels team this Spring. Murphy played in 48 games for the Angels last season and he hit .229 with a .633 OPS. Murphy is a very speedy ballplayer that could become an asset for the Angels this season.
